Road Trip Idea: Southwestern Art and Traditions

Wherever you are in the U.S., there’s a great road trip nearby. I’ve already shared itineraries for the northeast, southeast, and northwest. Now it’s time for the southwest, land of mesas, museums, margaritas and, especially in Santa Fe in summertime, art markets: July brings the 64th annual Spanish Market (July 25-26), where local Hispanic artists exhibit their handmade traditional art, and August brings the 93rd annual Indian Market (August 21-23), a celebration of Native arts and culture, with 1,100 artists representing more than 100 tribes.
